Sometimes, it’s simply a joy to collaborate on design projects with other artists. Recently, we’ve been given the chance to work with the young and talented Jomike Tejido on a Calendar project for Airphil Express. Jomike, or Jose Miguel Tejido, is an up-and-coming fine artist based in Antipolo. A member of Ang I.N.K. (Ilustrador ng Kabataan), Jomike graduated with a degree in Architecture from the UST and is an architect, illustrator/painter, and writer by profession. He has created over 40 children’s books, including the award-winning Tagu-taguan (Best Reads, 2010), Anvil Nature Series, and the Foldabots Toy Books. Jomike has held six solo exhibits of banig or mat paintings in the Philippines, Singapore, and Tokyo (check out www.jmtejido.com for more of his works).
